"From Hot Pods to Heartfelt Practice: My Journey to Finding Yoga as My Anchor"

Yoga has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Since my teenage years, I’ve practiced it intermittently, but I always struggled to build a consistent routine. It wasn’t until 2022—a year that challenged me both mentally and physically—that I began to truly reconnect with yoga in a meaningful way. That year was tough, and I was searching for something that could help me manage the emotional rollercoaster I was on. Slowly, I reintroduced yoga into my life, starting with the wonderful ‘Hot Pod’ yoga. It became the one place where I could completely switch off from my emotions, and it was in that calming heat-filled pod that my love for yoga was reborn—this time with commitment and strength.

In April 2024, I decided to take the leap and enroll in a 200-hour Vinyasa and Hatha yoga teacher training. It was life-changing. Through the training, I dove deeper into the world of yoga—beyond the physical postures—and fell in love with the practice all over again. Yoga began to heal me in ways I hadn’t expected, helping me find balance both on and off the mat.

For those who know me, it’s no secret that I’m into my ‘hippie-dippiness.’ I’ve always loved everything holistic and calming, even if it gets a few giggles from the people around me. But my connection to this side of life runs far deeper than just a passing interest. Having struggled with my mental health (as many of us do), I needed to find a way to cope, and yoga has been my saving grace. It’s become more than just a form of exercise—it’s my anchor.

Today, yoga is part of my daily routine, not just in my movements but in my mindset, breathing, and how I approach life’s challenges. It’s so much more than poses on a mat! I’m incredibly passionate about sharing yoga with others because I truly believe it’s for everyone. You don’t need to be a fitness fanatic or give up your Friday night takeout or cheeky G&Ts to enjoy it. Yoga doesn’t judge—it’s for all of us, no matter where we are in life.

If you’ve ever felt like yoga wasn’t for you, or if you’ve been curious but hesitant, I’d love for you to join me in one of my classes. Let’s explore this amazing practice together and discover how it can support, heal, and uplift you—just as it has for me.
